Dennis Rodman and NBA legends are in Bogota
On the occasion of an exhibition sport, basketball former player and multiple NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls United States, Dennis Rodman, offered Tuesday a press conference in Bogota, along with other international basketball legends.
The international figure, who won five NBA titles and is part of the Hall of Fame legends leads the team will face this Thursday from 6:00 pm in a game against the Pirates exhibition in Bogota .
"I'm here for the works that are for humanitarian causes, so we are in Colombia and we want to highlight the work with children in the popular sectors," said Rodman, who played alongside the likes of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Isiah Thomas and Kobe Bryant, among others.
The American was twice selected to the All-Star Game and won twice the award for Defensive Player of the Year in the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons.
"To be active in basketball come to these activities as in Colombia, a free event for the first time we will, to see us without paying a weight, so it is very important the work they do in Bogota and so came to see a smile on the face of every child, "said Rodman.
Besides Rodman, on display will be Jason Williams, Dale Ellis, Kenny Anderson and Vin Baker, all figures and NBA legends and a U.S. street basketball legend, Guy Dupuy, all in a Grand Slam Productions, with IDRD support of Bogotá.
Meanwhile, Vin Baker stated that "the people of Bogotá can expect many jumps and stunts, with specialized players for that game, which will be complemented by the experience of several players in a spectacular match."
Also, Jason Williams said, "we put the smile on the face of children and models of them not us, but their parents should allow them to always go to school."
The opportunity to come to Colombia, Williams admitted that "I would go to play basketball anywhere in the world to make children happy," while Baker acknowledged that "I felt very excited when they told me to come to Colombia, because I have spoken highly of this country. "
By Thursday, the doors of the Coliseum El Salitre de Bogota will open at 4:00 pm, with free access for the public, in a program that begins at 6:30 pm with a display of streetball and match between the legends of the NBA against Pirates will go at 7:00 pm.
In the program there is also a space between the legends of the NBA with the countries participating this week in Bogota in the sixth America's Cup Wheelchair Basketball.
